Toorale Station Monitoring

Toorale Station:  The Bourke office of National Parks and Wildlife together with the Dubbo Office of the Department of Environment and Heritage have located an RMCam at Boera Dam on Toorale Station near Louth.  This remote monitoring unit allows the Department to see what is happening on site in real-time without the need for fixed power and communication links.

Operating over wireless networks and powered by the sun, the unit provides real-time access to view the site and to access archived images and data, which drastically reduces the time and cost associated with managing the site.  With a weather station linked into the system on-site, the RMCam also provides unique insights into the movement of water from natural flooding events and following releases down the Warrego River of Watering Actions from the Commonwealth Environmental Water Holder.

A presentation about the technology in use on Toorale Station can be viewed below.
